Soulful Somatics CIC

What is somatics….: Somatic movement involves a series of exercises that reconnect the brain with the muscles, so you can let go of tightness in your body.  The movements tend to be slow and mindful, and performed generally on the floor, such as yoga. This is so that your body can become much more comfortable and it is not fighting against gravity.

 

Who is somatics for?

 

  • Anyone suffering from chronic pain, aches, pains, and stiffness.
  • For people who want to keep fit and well
  • For people who practice Pilates and yoga
  • For people who suffer from mental health-related problems
  • For children as a form of art and play therapy
  • For individuals suffering from postnatal depression

The course is an introduction to the world of somatics, the sessions will cover the following learning objectives.

 

  • Start to look and explore key concepts in the somatic field.
  • Examining ways to find somatic rest through exploration of the
  • Look at different aspects of Authentic movement and how that can help individuals.
  • Look at key concepts in what is understood by the meaning of ‘self’.
  • Reflect and evaluate the process.
  • Evaluate own personal journey.
