Merseyside Scout Council
The Scout Association provides adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for 400,000 young people aged 6-25. Scouting is for girls as well as boys and is the country's largest mixed organisation for young people.
If you are aged between 6-25 there will be a group for you to join locally. If not why don’t you volunteer some of your time to help run Scouting. You decide how much time you give and how often. There are five different age ranges of the association which includes:
Beaver Scouts
Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in The Scout Association and are aged 6-8 years old. This section focuses on having fun and making friends.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts are Boys and Girls aged 8 to 10. They meet in a Cub Pack and have lots of fun. At Cubs you can try lots of fun activities like Camping, going on trips and making things.
Scouts
The Scout Section is for young people, aged between 10½ and 14 years. This section is more adventurous including the camping but also activities like canoeing, climbing, zorbing and much much more.
Explorer Scouts
The Explorer section is for young people, aged 14 to 18 years. This section tends to meet across bigger areas, learn specific skills like archery and achieve some of the highest awards in the UK like the Duke of Edinburgh awards.
Scout Network
The Network Section is for young Adults aged 18 to 25. This section is very flexible, as young adults maybe have just started work, moved to a university. This section offers a drop in programme, with a focus on national and international opportunities and events.
