In Sefton we provide a sleep service to complement the early intervention and prevention process. We realise that sleep deprivation impacts greatly on children and their parents and carers and we expect the outcomes of this service will equip parents and carers to apply cognitive and behavioural principles to managing sleep problems in children with additional support needs.
Signs of sleep deprivation:
- Increased stress and anxiety
- Comprimised immune syatem
- Weight gain
- ADHD, hyperactivity and/or defiant behaviour
- Hindered physical development
The health and wellness of a child is closely related to quality of sleep. This fact is no surprise to most parents. Sleep is essential for every child for healthy develpoment and well adjusted behaviour.
