Rainbow Hub

Our Services:

Conductive Education

Rainbow Hub promotes independence and achievement for both children and young people, through the philosophy and practice of Conductive Education.

This is a holistic educational system using repetitive physical activities incorporating rhythm, song, and phrases to help young people with neurological conditions and brain injury carry out simple movements.

Conditions include cerebral palsy, Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), Williams Syndrome, Moebius Syndrome, Downs Syndrome during the early years and acquired brain injury. It can also benefit individuals who do not have a diagnosis and those with global developmental delay, genetic conditions, and other physical disabilities.

Rebound Therapy

Rebound Therapy involves the use of a trampoline to facilitate movement, encourage therapeutic exercise and provide recreation for children with physical disabilities. Promoting balance, relaxation, sensory integration and an increase or decrease in muscle tone, it also improves overall fitness, exercise tolerance and communication skills.

Family Support

Our dedicated Parent Support Worker can offer both emotional and practical help. Anything from lending an ear or filling our benefit forms, to finding help with Education and Health Care Plans or going along to medical appointments and school meetings.

Step Safe

Whatever makes your child unsteady on their feet, our Step Safe sessions will improve their walking pattern and teach them strategies to help access new environments. Learning to accept different surfaces, they can practice moving around obstacles and build their stamina, as well as confidence in their own ability.

Active Movement

Rainbow Hub’s purpose-built Active Movement Room encourages children to be independent of their wheelchairs.

Full of soft-padded equipment, it’s a safe, stimulating environment where children can play and move around freely. Tunnels, steps, and swings provide sensory benefits and help our professionals to make exercises fun as children develop their physical skills.

Sessions are for one hour at a time. They can be either one-to-one or in a group depending upon the needs of your child.

Mobility

Mobility sessions would suit someone who cannot participate in a full Conductive Education programme but could potentially move more independently.

Rainbow Hub Nursery

Rainbow Hub Nursery aims to give children aged 2 to 5 years with additional needs the opportunity to develop, be happy and make friends with other children who have similar challenges. Your child will be cared for by highly experienced early years staff who understand how to meet their individual needs and can give them that little bit of extra support to help them achieve their potential.
