REMAP (Rehabilitation Engineering Movement Advisory Panels)

REMAP was formed by engineers, handymen and others working at ICI Billingham in 1964 after one of them began to devise technical aids for his sister who had polio.  The charity currently utilises the voluntary services of around 1,500 professional engineers, technicians, craftspeople and health care experts belonging to 105 panels (groups) linked to regions across the UK.

REMAP owes its existence to the fact that alleviating a disability often demands novel solutions matched to the precise needs of an individual.  You can  contact Mrs J Lockyer, Liverpool Disabled Centre, 101 Kempston Street, L3 8HE.

Can we help you? We are the Merseyside REMAP Panel. We receive requests for help from disabled people, carers and therapists. We will be delighted to try and help, provided that the technical aid is not commercially available and the client resides in the UK. We will also consider modifying existing equipment subject to ownership and warranty checks. We do reserve the right to refuse referrals which are considered unsafe.
