St. Peter's C Of E Parish Church (Formby)

At St. Peter's we hold on to the best of the Anglican tradition while still being open to innovation.  We see ourselves as a welcoming, caring church.  We have a concern for all in the parish and members of the church are involved in many aspects of the life of this community from youth organisations to the local golf and tennis clubs, Citizens' Advice Bureau and charity work to local politics's. 

At St Peter's Church there are many organisations that form part of church life or are linked to the Church community including Scouting/Brownies/Guides.

Activities/Organisations

Fishy Club

Fishy Club is an after school bible club for children in Years 3 to 6 of primary school.

Mothers’ Union

The Mothers’ Union is an international Christian charity that seeks to support families worldwide.

St Peter’s Mothers’ Union meets at the Bier House, Green Lane, Formby on the 1st Thursday of the month at 2pm.

Primetime

Primetime was set up in January 2016 with the intention of encouraging ladies to get together once a month for fun, friendship and support. We do something different each month, but whatever we do we have a good time.

Monthly attendance is not compulsory – numbers have varied from 9 to 26. We generally meet on the third Wednesday of the month in the Old School Room, Parish Hall, Paradise Lane at 7.30pm, but it’s always a good idea to check dates as occasionally we do change them.

Saturday Crew

Join us in the Bier House 10.30 -12 on the first Saturday of the month to complete a variety of tasks that need doing. No special skills required just bring your enthusiasm!

Singing for Fun

A friendly light-hearted group singing favourites from our past, no special skills required. Coffee and cake included!

Carers and those living with memory loss especially welcome.

We usually meet in the Bier House on the first Monday of the month 2 – 4.00pm, but please check dates for those falling on a bank holiday.

Everyone is welcome, open to all.

Sunday Club

Sunday Club meets twice a month during the 10am Eucharist.

All children are welcome though it will be designed for the younger age group.

Children start in church and then move to the Bier House for lots of fun and games as they explore the bible together.

Time Out

Why not take some Time Out to talk about what matters.

Many of us have had some really interesting chats about things over a pint or two.

This is an invitation to join a few of us over a drink in The Bier House to listen and chat about some of the things that matter to us.

It’s nothing terribly formal – just an opportunity to share ideas and thoughts together.
