“The Mix” Youth Cafe After-school youth provision for 11-17 year-old's is based in the Community Room of The George in the heart of Crosby Village and offers free entry, free membership, free wifi and even a £3.49 Meal Deal.

We create a happy, inclusive, social environment to deliver informal education on a wide range of topics. 

We also offer: -

  • Advice, information, projects and new opportunities; Fun games
  • Pastoral care and 1-1 mentoring;
  • Homework support;
  • Good conversation;
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme options for the Service and Skills sections;
  • Day and evening trips;
  • Fun games, quizzes, team-building etc;
  • Music and performance opportunities;
  • A chance to simply chill-out after school / college;
  • Encouragement to develop interests, creativity and leadership;
  • Openings to engage with our local, regional or national Youth Parliament; Live Music
  • Raised community and environmental awareness;
  • Opportunities to raise issues which matter to you;
  • Discussions and debates on current affairs;
  • Referrals / signposting information on complementary services.

Young people can expect to make new friends, develop their communication and inter-personal skills, explore their identity, experience decision-making and increase their self-confidence.

There are seven secondary schools in the Crosby area and everyone is welcome to attend.  

Entry is via “The Vaults” big black double-doors in the pedestrianised area of Moor Lane.  Look out for “The Mix” signage on the doors

Unlike commercial cafes, qualified youth workers are present to provide a safe, inclusive environment, where all young people can relax and feel valued; Youth Workers are trained to deal with bullying, homophobic, sexist and racist incidents, for which there is a zero-tolerance policy. ; Young people attending alone can expect to feel very welcome and will soon develop new friendships by participating in all the fun activities and informal educational projects on offer at The Mix. All young people are required to complete membership, medical and consent forms, counter-signed by a parent, guardian or carer. The Mix Youth Cafe is a trading name of 'The Mix Crosby CIC'
