Founded in 1992 Alternative Futures Group Limited (AFG) is a charity based in the North West of England celebrating 22 years of providing high quality support to adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
A major employer in the North West employing around 2500 people, AFG provides around-the-clock, personalised support to approximately 1100 people, in their own homes or in one of seven independent hospitals (treatment and recovery centres). AFG’s vision is at the heart of everything it does; "A world where people control their lives.”
AFG works in partnership with the people it supports, their families/carers and health professionals to deliver person-centred care and life enriching support. AFG works locally in the community and through its treatment and recovery centres to provide bespoke care services delivering support to people with a diverse range of care needs, including but not limited to: ‘Learning Disabilities’, ‘Physical Disabilities’, ‘Mental Health Concerns’, ‘Substance Misuse issues’, ‘Complex care’, ‘ Autism’, ‘Dementia’ and Young people in transition.
AFG tailors services to meet the needs and aspirations of each individual; supporting them to lead the lives they want as active citizens in their communities. To achieve this, AFG employs local of support staff, who are able to make strong links with the local community and are prepared to dedicate time, effort and imagination into providing excellent person-centred support.
