LGBT Youth North West

Lesbian and Gay Youth Manchester (LGYM) is a lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) youth project based in the city centre for young people aged 12+. We meet on:

Tuesdays 7.30 – 10.00pm and Saturdays 3.00 – 7.00pm

LGYM is a safe space where you can meet other young people and feel at ease. There are loads of different activities you can take part in which include outdoor activities – rock climbing, canoeing, cycling and walking. Perhaps you are more arty? Come and have a go at banner making, painting, podcasting, drama or film making. Maybe debates and discussion are more your thing? The list is endless!

Young people have a big say in the activities that we do, so if you have an idea, let us know!

We are based in the LGBT Centre on Sidney Street off Oxford Road near Manchester Metropolitan University. We know that some people have difficulty in finding us…

If that is the case you can request to meet a qualified youth worker or police checked volunteer in a public place of your choosing in the city centre. If you require this service email Sally at info@theproudtrust.org.

The Star Centre address is 98b Linacre Lane, Bootle L20 6ES. We facilitate our LGBTQ drop in and support group.  One to one and group therapeutic sessions are delivered throughout the week and on Saturdays. For more information about the Star Centre give us a call on 0151 474 4744.
