Derby Park

Derby Park is located within 10 minutes walk from Bootle town centre.

It was built in 1895 and is an excellent example of an urban Victorian park. It is a very important cultural asset and this has been recognised by its designation as part of the Derby Park Conservation Area and its listing on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Facilities include:

  • Play area
  • Multi-use games areas
  • Bowls green
  • Football 'knockout' area
  • Zip wire
  • Historic environment and landscape
  • Statues

Derby Park has a Friends of the Park Group. Friends of the park are voluntary groups of local residents, workers or visitors who are willing to spend some time, energy and effort in caring for and improving their local park or green space.

Outdoor Gyms

We have 38 Outdoor Gyms located across the borough's parks and on the sea front, giving users the chance the get fit and healthy while enjoying Sefton's natural beauty.

Each gym has 5-10 pieces of equipment ranging from cardio to strength based activities. Smart phone users can also scan the QR codes to open a short video demonstrating how to use each piece of equipment.
