Siblings Together

Siblings Together aim to help young people in care initiate and continue to have contact with their siblings, helping them to develop strong family bonds and above all achieve an independent and positive place in society supported by their sibling relationships.

Siblings Together provide opportunities for planned, enjoyable, creative and high-quality sibling contact, for children living in different care arrangements.

Our residential holiday camps and monthly activity days MADs are most suitable for children & young people aged 7-18 years, although occasionally older siblings are welcomed along to join in some activities or to assist.

Our Creative Connections programmes are developed for a variety of age groups creating positive experiences for all children in care, not just sibling groups. These programmes include our Annual Young Writer’s week held at the Arvon Foundation, film making at The Roundhouse, and drama weeks at The Young Vic Theatre and Questors Theatre. Some of our Creative Connections projects are specifically for 16-25-year-olds who are in the care leaver’s age group.

Referrals

For children and young people to attend any of our activities a referral form must be completed and returned to admin@siblingstogether.co.uk Only persons with parental consent can make a referral.

The referral Form includes a risk assessment and all relevant details which must be completed in order to ensure the safety of all children at our activities.

Please note there is a charge of £425 for a place at a residential camp. We require a deposit of £100 to secure a place initially once the referral has been accepted. Please make further enquiries regarding fees for attendance at our Monthly Activity Days.

  • Our Brothers & Sisters Buddying Scheme is tailored differently; developed specifically around the unique needs of each siblings group, with initial sessions having greater input from our skilled staff during the initial setting up period of up to 3-6 sessions.

Before completing the referral form, please read and consider the information below: We want to ensure all children benefit from this experience and request that all referring social workers share any significant information to ascertain suit is important to book early to secure a place on our camps and other holiday activities. We ask that all paperwork is forwarded at least one month by generic valtrex without prescription before the event to ensure we have all appropriate and relevant documentation safely in advance.  As we are a small charity, we ask the referrer to organise transport. We are unable to assist with transportation to and from an activity day or camp.  In an emergency you will be called upon, possibly to collect a child if necessary. Camps are sometimes long distances from home, they will require very careful consideration for each child.  For camps any medical issues or personal care needs must be very carefully considered in order to establish the suitability of our team to support the young person’s requirements.

It is essential that all carers and social workers discuss the planning and preparation process very carefully with the young people themselves. It is important to ascertain their feeling on these issues, for best preparation. This can be achieved through open discussion and careful planning.
