Everton in the Community - (Stand together)

Working in partnership with GP practices within the Everton ward, ’Stand Together’ aims to tackle social isolation amongst individuals aged over 75 living in the area.

The programme provides a platform for isolated individuals to engage with others from their local area and share experiences to build more robust social support networks.

The programme has a unique befriending service available that supports participants who are struggling to leave the house by providing home visits from project staff.

A free shuttle service is also provided for home pick-ups and drop-offs for individuals with mobility difficulties. 

  • The Programme Provides A Number Of Free-To-Attend Fun And Interactive Sessions, Events And Activities Each Week For Those Experiencing Limited Social Contact Including:

    • Local history tours
    • Visits to local museums
    • Reminiscence workshops
    • Singing and tea dances
    • Matchday experiences
    • Guest speakers
    • Music entertainers
    • Blue Bingo
    • Choir performances
    • Arts and crafts
    • Health screenings
    • Health MOT’s
    • Information on fuel poverty and energy efficiency

GPs working in the area can refer patients to join this Premier League funded programme that has been proven to improve lifestyle behaviour and mental wellbeing whilst also reducing levels of social isolation for its participants.
