Al-Rahma Mosque is managed by The Liverpool Muslim Society is a registered ‎Muslim charity in Liverpool, England. The Mosque was founded in 1953 by the late ‎Al-Haj Ali Hizzam, where it operated from a room in his house. In 1965 the ‎construction of Al-Rahma Mosque started and the main prayer hall was completed in ‎July 1974, to serve the small population of 3000 Muslim, at that time. The first small ‎floor, the madrassah and the Imam’s accommodation was added in 1979. Today, ‎after over 7 decades the Liverpool Region Muslim population grew to over 25,000, ‎and the Mosque has undergone multiple extensions projects. On Fridays, the mosque ‎accommodates between 2,000 and 2,500 people.

MANAGEMENT

The Liverpool Muslim Society’s work is directed by a Board of Trustees, who ‎approve the policy for the organisation. They provide support to all members of the ‎Muslim community and organise activities that appeal to the diverse body of ‎members and the wider community.‎ The activities of the Society are overseen by various sub-committees, who meet as ‎and when required and report to the Board [Management Committee] who meet ‎every month. The board is composed of not less than 5 nor more than 12 trustees‎.
