Activate CES

Activate is a specialist training provider offering personalised educational and vocational courses for 19-24 year olds with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities with an education, health and care plan.. We offer two programmes in Kirkby: Activate Futures and Activate Choices.

Activate Futures Focuses on helping learners to build the skills and experience needed to pursue an active life in the local community. Learners take part in volunteering, work experience and options such as travel training to further develop their independence and prepare them for the future. The curriculum includes a wide variety of activities such as: vocational skills which include animal care, horticulture, drama, creative, personal and social development, functional skills maths & english, volunteering/work experience, employability skills, life skills, trips out and community projects. We offer an accredited employability qualification which includes various vocational units.

Activate Choices is a three year programme designed for learners who have profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties or other conditions requiring high levels of support. It continues to build on previous curricula from school and focuses on individual and personal goals. The curriculum includes the following activities: personal and social development (focusing on communication and individual aspirations), participation in community projects at our centre, trips into the local community, sensory activities and vocational skills (such as music and animal care). Learners work towards an Open Awards Entry Level 1 Qualification in Personal Progress.
