Autism and Social Communication Team
WELCOME TO THE AUTISM AND SOCIAL COMMUNICATION TEAM SUPPORT AND INFORMATION PAGES.
FOR MAINSTREAM SCHOOL SETTINGS:
The Autism and Social Communication Team is part of the Complex Needs team, and sits within Sefton’s SEN and Inclusion Service. We offer support for the inclusion of autistic children and young people in mainstream schools.
The team consists of a Lead Practitioner, a Specialist Advisory Teacher and 3 Inclusion Support Workers, who are skilled and experienced in providing a range of specialist advice, support, training and resources to primary and secondary mainstream schools across Sefton. We also offer bespoke support to meet the needs of the more complex cases within the borough.
We provide evidence based DfE recognised tools and training for schools through the Autism Education Trust’s Schools Development Programme (https://www.autismeducationtrust.org.uk), as well as bespoke centralised training and consultations. For further information, please discuss with your SENIS Inclusion Consultant or email: socialcom@sefton.gov.uk
Services are delivered to mainstream schools within Sefton via the Graduated Response and in consultation with your SENIS Inclusion Consultant.
