Children's Community Nurses

The Children’s Community Nursing (CCN) Service compromises of five teams of experienced children’s nurses. The teams provides nursing care for children and young people, with acute and complex health requirements in their home or within a community setting.

The Children’s Community Nursing Teams aim to:

  • Provide a service that enables children and young people to be nursed at home with their family or guardian.
  • Reduce hospital admissions and to shorten the time spend in hospital.
  • Work closely with other multi-agency professionals.
  • Provide training to nursery staff,  schools staff , carers and other health professionals.

The team see children and young people aged 0-19 years who have a nursing need across Liverpool and Sefton.

The CCN services have offices in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool and Ainsdale Medical Centre in Ainsdale.

The team is avaialble 7 days per week, 8am to 9:30pm (These times will only be for Liverpool and South Sefton patients only).

The service is run year round.
